My name is Rebecca Adams. I am the
mother of three beautiful Children who are my pride and joy. I enjoy
the feeling of being pregnant so much that I went on to become a
surrogate mother. I have given birth to triplets and a Singleton for
two other couples. The biggest gift in life is life itself. To help
fulfill a couples dream to have a family is very rewarding.
I became a doula so that I could work
closely with pregnant woman in the most sacred way. Giving birth and
bringing a new life into this world is not an easy thing. You may
choose to have lots of people with you through labor and delivery or
you may want to keep it private. Either way a doula brings such
great comfort, knowing she is there for just you and that she will
see you through the birth process until both you and baby are safely
together. A doula will help your partner and family in ways which
help to educate and inform them all the while keeping them relaxed.
This makes for a better over-all experience for all.
During the birth of my own children I
always had my family and closest friends with me, but they were not
much help when the pain really started. All they could do was watch
and pray and talk about how miserable I looked. It wasn't till my
most recent birth, as a surrogate that I had Debbie Bozarth, as my
doula. This birth was my most positive experience because she
encouraged me and stuck by my side until the baby and I were safe.
I think every woman should have a
doula with her during birth. I make sure the focus in the room is on
the laboring mom and helping her to cope with the pain, giving her
ideas to speed up labor and to advocate for her. I educate the
laboring mom and her support in all the birth options and
interventions so that they can make the choices that best suit their
birth goals, allowing them to have the best birth experience
possible.
